Parking on Balboa Island can be challenging. Often the demand is much greater than the actual availability. During peek months (late May- August) parking can be very difficult.
The streets are swept once a week; be sure to check all posted street signage to ensure you are not parked illegally on sweep days. Cars will be ticketed and the fine is substantial.
Additionally, nobody may park in red zones, blocking driveways of in crosswalks at any time. NO vehicles may be parked in the same spot for over 72 hours or they will be subject to tow at the owners expense.
Visitors are not permitted to sleep in parked cars, vans or RVs on the island. There is ABSOLUTELY NO OVERNIGHT PARKING of this type permitted.
Recreational vehicles exceeding 84 in width or height are not permitted on the island for more than 24 hours. Recreational vehicles exceeding 95 wide are not allowed to park on the island at any time.
